TEDxEdina Speakers 2022

TEDxEdina is back and better than ever. In addition to TEDxEdina, this year we’re adding a TEDxYouth@Edina component: an event organized by youth, for youth, featuring youth speakers. TEDxYouth@Edina will kick things off on Friday, October 28; TEDxEdina will take the stage on Saturday, October 29.

Applications to speak at TEDxEdina are now closed and we’ll be announcing our speaker line up soon.

Applications to speak at TEDxYouth@Edina are now open. Click here to learn more and apply. Applications are due June 10, 2022.

Some Additional Details

TED Rules prohibit a few things:

  • TEDx speakers are not paid. A TEDx event is not a platform for professional or circuit speakers, such as motivational speakers and professional life coaches. Our purpose is to give a platform to those who often don’t have one.
  • TED prohibits “bad science.” Scientific claims should be based on data that has survived scrutiny by experts in the field.
  • TED prohibits talks designed to be divisive, talks with an inflammatory political or religious agenda, or talks using polarizing “us vs them” language. We seek to build consensus and provide outside-the-box thinking, not revisit familiar, unresolvable disputes on these topics.
  • Talks must be delivered in fewer than 18 minutes. Neuroscience suggests that’s the ideal length of time to pitch an idea. . . although we’ve found that shorter is often better! You’ll be asked to deliver your talk without notes (or minimal notes).
  • TEDxEdina 2022 does not have a theme. We’re looking to feature a diversity of speakers from across several disciplines that address a variety of topics and subjects. And, we welcome performances and alternative modes of idea-sharing, too.
  • You don’t need to live or work in Edina to speak at TEDxEdina.

Our committee of community volunteers will do everything we can to help you deliver the talk of your life. Our goal is to have one of the talks from TEDxEdina 2022 featured on the TED platform. So far, we’ve accumulated 821,948 views (and counting) of previous TEDxEdina talks on our YouTube playlists.
